Quick Preah Vihear Facts

Preah Vihear Province (5,300 square miles) is in northern Cambodia and borders on the north with Thailand and Laos. Its capital is Preah Vihear City and the province is famous for the Preah Vihear temple.

Much of the province is extremely remote and heavily forested, but population influx leading to slash and burn agriculture, illegal logging and large commercial plantations have reduced the natural beauty of the landscape by harvesting huge tracts of pristine tropical hardwoods.

Our Ministries

Here's a brief overview of some of the core ministries in Preah Vihear.

Communities of Believers

Along with evangelism and discipleship, believers gather into healthy communities to grow in the knowledge of the Lord and start groups of believers in unreached province areas.

"An inconvenience is only an adventure wrongly considered."
G.K. Chesterton

After twenty-three years in Cambodia and thirty-eight years in Asia, I have learned that God's grace is evident every day! Life is lived on the edge in Cambodia, and an opportunity is hiding behind every challenging situation.

Jim & Carolyn Gabriels

Team Leaders, Discipleship, Plas Prai Center Coordinators, PVSAM Bible School Leaders

Jim and Carolyn are grateful to have raised three children in Cambodia and now both have the freedom to serve full-time. Their adult children are now all in the US either working or studying at University..

The Gabriels serve in the Preah Vihear School of Applied Ministry giving Christians in remote villages the redemptive story-line of the Bible and training in ministry skills. They also give oversight at the Plas Prai high school dorm which provides opportunity for students living in remote areas to finish high school.

Dy Sina

PV Team Member, Plas Prai Manager, Disciple-Maker and Evangelist

Sina is a native Preah Vihean who came to faith as a teen-ager and was discipled by our team. Sina received a clear calling to serve God full-time and attended Bible school.
